Images can be like portals, transforming the real into the surreal. Participants will learn how to transform everyday photographs into vivid dreamscapes, emphasizing a colorful and painterly approach to digital image editing and collage making. This workshop celebrates the ease and accessibility of a digital studio, imagining possibilities to create from anywhere with any amount of time. Artist Allison McKinney will be sharing tools, techniques, and insights into her own digital process and practice. Guests will discover how even simple gestures, like multiplying forms, or amplifying color, can open portals to new worlds. The workshop is an invitation to approach rule-breaking and endlessly inventive image-making.
