Explore the magic of clay in this hand-building workshop with local artist Aimee Odum! Create a collection of mini vases while learning the fundamentals of handbuilding with clay. In this workshop, participants will explore basic techniques—such as slab building, coiling, and carving—to shape, build, and texture their own small ceramic forms. We’ll examine how different approaches produce different results, allowing each piece to develop its own character. Once your pieces are built, we’ll finish them with colorful acrylic surface designs and attach magnets so you can arrange them into a curated grouping that can hold various spring wildflowers, found treasures, or simply function as a fun modular display. This workshop is a great chance to experiment, slow down, and enjoy the process of working with clay—no experience needed. FREE and open to the public, with a $20 suggested donation. All materials are provided, and parking is validated at OCA.
